CWEP Voted Best Utility in Best of the Four States

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP) is proud to announce it has been voted Best Utility in Zimmer Marketing’s 2026 Best of the Four States contest.

The annual Zimmer Marketing "Best of the Four States" contest gives residents throughout the Four States area the opportunity to nominate and vote for their favorite local businesses, organizations and service providers across a variety of categories. CWEP stood out among four other area utilities nominated in the Best Utility category to earn this year’s top honor.

For more than 127 years, CWEP has had the privilege of serving Carthage as a community-owned utility, providing reliable electric, water, wastewater and fiber services to the community.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the people we serve,” said Meagan Milliken, CWEP Public Relations Manager. “Our employees work hard every day to provide reliable, quality services to our customers and neighbors, and we’re grateful for the community’s continued support.”

As a public power utility, CWEP is locally owned and operated with the sole focus of serving the needs of the Carthage community. CWEP thanks everyone who voted and helped recognize the dedicated employees who work each day to keep essential services running.
