Customer Assistance for Reliable Essential Services

At Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP), we believe essential services like electricity, water, and wastewater are more than utilities, they’re the foundation of a safe, healthy, and thriving community.

That’s why we created CWEP C.A.R.E.S., a customer assistance program designed to support local families and individuals experiencing temporary financial hardship.

What is CWEP C.A.R.E.S.?

CWEP C.A.R.E.S. (Customer Assistance for Reliable Essential Services) is a community-driven program that provides financial assistance to qualifying CWEP customers who need help maintaining access to essential utility services.

This program reflects our commitment to serving our community, not just by delivering reliable utilities, but by supporting our neighbors when they need it most.

How It Works

Funds collected through CWEP C.A.R.E.S. will be used to assist eligible customers with their utility bills during times of hardship. This support helps ensure customers can maintain safe, reliable service while they work toward financial stability.

Support the Program

We are currently accepting donations and building a dedicated fund to support neighbors in need.

You can choose to round up your monthly bill or make a one-time or recurring contribution to support this program. Additional details, including how to enroll when applications officially open, will be posted here at www.cwep.com.

Every contribution goes directly toward helping local families stay connected to the essential services they rely on every day.

Ways to Give:

• One-time donation through your CWEP My Account portal
• In-person donations at our office (cash, check, or card)
• By mail with your utility payment

Please note: Contributions are not tax deductible at this time.

Join us at the annual Tower 2 Tower Run, where 100% of proceeds go directly to the CWEP C.A.R.E.S. fund. It’s a fun way to give back while celebrating our community.
